New crew

How we bring people on

You don't need experience to start. You need to show up and pay attention.

1 · Come sail

First time out you're a second pair of hands. Someone walks you around the boat before the start and tells you where not to stand.

2 · Pick a job

Grinding, tailing, foredeck, pit. You'll find the one that suits you after a couple of nights, and we'll keep you there long enough to get good at it.

3 · Own it

Regular crew run their own position — gear ready, calls made, no one chasing you. That's when the boat starts getting quick.

What to bring

  • Soft-soled, non-marking shoes
  • A layer more than you think you need — it's colder on the water
  • Water, sunglasses on a lanyard, sunscreen
  • A PFD if you own one; we have spares if you don't
